Fat Loss - Learn What You're Doing Wrong

For many of us, struggling to lose fat buildup around the waist is often frustrating. It seems that no matter how many sit-ups and crunches you do, the flat stomach of youth is gone forever. Not so! Fat loss, especially belly fat, isn't as difficult to lose as you may think. Let me shed some light on the problem.

Problem # 1: For years, too many gym instructors and ab machine infomercials have been selling the idea that to have a flat stomach and little or no belly fat you have to do stomach exercises. Those are great for the underlying muscles, but they don't burn fat.

Problem # 2: At the local YMCA where I workout everyone's doing cardio routines and wondering when they're going to get thin. That's probably true in many gyms. By definition, cardio is designed to pump your heart to keep it strong, help keep your arteries clear, and let you live a long life. It isn't designed to help burn fat. It just isn't.

Solution: Instead of spending time and effort on routines that may be good for you but don't burn fat, focus on a properly designed, high intensity, strength training routine. You'll jump-start your metabolism rate and many of the body's other responses. With a well designed routine that mixes full body exercises with the correct intensity levels and rest periods, you'll actually burn far more calories that with a typical machine-based cardio workout.

Full body training that addresses individual muscles groups in combinations that build strength will give you a reduction in overall body fat and the flat stomach look you want.

While you're burning calories to lose weight you need to fuel your system with the proper nutrients. Building muscle and burning fat requires a full load of vitamins, amino acids, proteins, starches, etc. These are best when they come from fresh foods and not from a bottle.

Proper nutritional balance is essential to weight loss success. The more raw or slightly cooked your food is when it arrives on your plate the better. Avoid pre-packaged and processed foods, artificial ingredients, hydrogenated oils, and junk foods from the drive-up window.

Eating well while you exercise can increase the speed at which you burn fat, increase your energy level, give you more stamina and rebalance your hormones. In short, your whole body will function better and you'll get those flat, sexy abs you've been dreaming about. Don't put it off. Get started right now.
